Chief has been a joy to work with. He was whelped in time to go on his
first big hunting trip to North Dakota October of 2008 with his dad and
the other dogs. When he came down to our winter place in Florida we
began his trained-retrieve and water work. He has really enjoyed each
step of the beginning training. He has earned his Started Hunting
Retriever title in UKC and his Junior Hunting title in AKC and is now
working toward the Poodle Club of America WC and WCX titles. ( The
standard of performance for WC and WCX for poodles is the same as for
Labradors.) He has also earned 3rd and 1st place in his Rally
competitions and now has his Rally Novice title.
He weighs about 74 pounds and is ???? in height at the shoulders. His
temperament is wonderful. He is gentle enough to visit nursing homes
and full of "go" in the field. He is a good citizen in the home and in
the dog clubs. He has a silly smile, sometimes crooked and sometimes a
full, rolled-back set of lips.
His
color is beautiful. He is often mistaken for a black poodle. In
certain light he appears very dark.
The health testing will began after May 9, 2010, his second
birthday. We already know that he will be normal for NE, because
both parents are normal. |
